FAQ

  1. Does my insurance cover my stay at Charter Oak Recovery Center? Each insurance plan is different, but we can check your insurance prior to admission to let you know any out of pocket expenses. If the insurance does cover residential treatment, it is authorized based on the symptoms and medical necessity of each individual. If you do not have a benefit that covers residential services, private pay arrangements can be made with the business office.
  2. How long is the treatment program stay? The length of the program is determined by the individual’s ability to meet treatment goals. The average length of stay is anywhere between 14 and 28 days.
  3. Can I have visitors? Absolutely, as long as they are committed to your recovery with you. We reserve the right to refuse any visitor that is hindering a person’s recovery and/or is under the influence during the visit.
  4. What is a typical day at the residential treatment program? The day starts at 7 a.m. with a morning “sunrise AA meeting” known as the attitude adjustment that is open to the community, alumni and residents. Then the day continues with groups throughout the day, including educational workgroups, a daily walk, and a wrap up at 10 p.m.
  5. What populations are served? We serve a variety of different populations from professionals in recovery to individuals in need of support for their sobriety and continued recovery.
  6. Can my family attend the meetings? We have family groups twice a week that we encourage the family to attend due to the fact that as the resident is changing their behaviors and committing themselves to recovery, the family needs to be involved and committed to the process as well to support the recovery after discharge.
  7. How often do I see my counselor? The minimum that a counselor is going to see you is twice a week by regulation, but the residents see their counselors a majority of the time every day.
